Continue reading this inspiring micro interview of Matt. His insights and advice are definitely worth it.

What’s your work routine?

Every day is different but it always starts with walking the dog!

What’s one misconception about technology projects you’ve come across?

That it is the responsibility of the IT department.

What metrics matter most in a tech project?

I'm always looking for the demonstrable benefits that most business's operational KPI's should be able to measure - e.g. increased inventory turnover, improved OTIF, reduced working capital.

Something you wish you’d known about your work when you first started?

That there are more people who can help you than you think.

What did your biggest professional failure teach you?

That it's never as bad as you think and you can recover.

The #1 thing that helps organisations get value from their technology projects?

There isn't one thing but always look for opportunities to deliver benefits as quickly as possible.

Your parting piece of advice?

Invest in continuous improvement. Cloud technology is no longer static and vendors are always adding new features. Nothing should be "one and done" anymore.
