This manufacturer of fine chocolates is a long-time HSO customer:
- Our first engagement involved deploying the Microsoft Business Applications Platform
- Shortly thereafter, the company announced a carve-out of the Japan unit, their Japanese subsidiary (with 500 retail outlets), and the Belgian manufacturing site, triggering more IT-related projects, including a complete IT Infrastructure transformation that supported business continuity while minimizing impact on users.
- The next issue: Disconnected legacy systems could not fully support batch tracking and shelf-life management, rendering it impossible to keep commitments to customers and impacting long-range planning. HSO supported the carve-out of the Japan unit, deploying solutions, including Azure ExpressRoute, for safer dedicated connections to the Azure environment, and Azure File Sync, improving resilience and availability, while reducing maintenance cost and effort.
Challenge
Most recently, the company set their sights on growing their US presence, but technology was again getting in the way. Disconnected legacy systems could not fully support batch tracking and shelf-life management, produced conflicting data, and provided inadequate inventory information. As a result, the company was unable to make accurate promises to customers, making long-range planning and labor-intensive and painful process.
