Challenge
This regional power authority relied on a legacy Epicor ERP system plus financial information from a partner's SAP system to provide effective oversight and needed to improve the ability to manage this information and overall financial operations. They needed to:
- Replace, improve, and streamline existing processes to enable staff to review/analyze financial information
- Gain the ability to obtain greater oversight of the Operating Service Agreement
- Gain mobile functions like approval of invoices and requisitions from anywhere
- Replace the current procurement process, which was being handled manually
- Ensure the ability to report following state standards stays intact
Solution
HSO successfully deployed Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, and Power BI to replace the outdated Epicor ERP system and provide greater insights. This implementation also improved the integrations with external data sources such as the partner's SAP system and the power authority's AccuData payroll system.
Results
The implementation resulted in significant improvements in analytics and reporting. Users gained access to previously inaccessible data, enabling them to analyze and report on it effectively. This allowed them to meet the strict requirements of the state. Additionally, the implementation saved a significant amount of time per day that was previously spent on creating reports.
