New licensing model for Dynamics 365 Customer Insights:
A comprehensive upgrade for optimized marketing

Microsoft launches Dynamics 365 Customer Insights and the associated licensing model transformation.

Starting September 1, 2023, Microsoft will introduce a new licensing model that unifies the current Dynamics 365 Marketing and Dynamics 365 Customer Insights applications into the innovative Dynamics 365 Customer Insights platform. The goal of this new feature? A best-in-class, personalized marketing solution that enables unified customer profiling and real-time orchestration of customer interactions.

Insight into the new licensing model

The new Dynamics 365 Customer Insights licensing model brings together the standalone Dynamics 365 Customer Insights and Dynamics 365 Marketing applications into a single, powerful platform. You will now find both Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys (formerly Dynamics 365 Marketing) and Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Data (formerly the standalone Dynamics 365 Customer Insights application) united under the Dynamics 365 Customer Insights umbrella.

Availability and access

Starting September 1, 2023, the new Dynamics 365 Customer Insights platform will be available to all. Future customers will have the opportunity to purchase this combined platform from that date. Existing customers will not be impacted by this change - application availability will remain unchanged for them.

It continues to offer highly integrated customer profiling and marketing process automation capabilities, but now with enhanced capabilities for real-time marketing functions. A smooth transition for existing customers

Our customers have the option to renew their current Dynamics 365 Marketing and/or Customer Insights licensing during a contract cycle before moving to the new Customer Insights platform. This renewal must occur before September 1, 2024. At the end of the renewed contract period, the switch to the new Customer Insights licensing will then occur.
